The swedish massage can be therapeutic, relaxing, or stimulating. Swedish massage is performed directly on the body using a selection of products; massage oil, massage cream, talcum powder, or medicated ointment and your therapist will also use a variety of techniques:
Massage techniques:
- Effleurage – lightly touching the body to warm up muscles
- Friction – rubbing one surface quickly over another to create heat
- Petrissage – kneading muscles to increase circulation
- Tapotement – tapping on the body to release tension from deep muscles
