More Info

Deborah Moses is respected and revered as one of the UKs leading kiln formed glass artists. She founded her studio, The Silver Zebra in 2004 and has garnered high praise and accolades for her exceptionally stunning art and sculptural work.

Drawing on over 35 years of experience in the glass industry, Deborah has developed her own eclectic and innovative style, incorporating a narrative of movement into all of her pieces. Although Deborah is a naturally self taught artist whose formal career began in 2002, her family has a rich history with glass.

Now, a master of her craft, Deborah offers training and classes in her studio for anyone wishing to learn her skills. Visitors and students travel from across the globe as well as the UK.

As a classically trained chef, Deborah provides students freshly prepared lunches that are just as integral as the glass courses. Lunches are made with the families home grown produce or locally sourced, not to mention the pastries and desserts. The studio is based on the families dairy farm in rural Cheshire so it’s a perfect retreat for students or for client visits.

Her glass work is largely commissioned including public installations, commercial, residential and interior design.

The Silver Zebra studio takes its name from Deborah’s love of glam rock Marc Bolan and the incomparable David Bowie. Her nickname of ‘Zebra’ comes from the lyrics in Bolans song ‘Deborah’; ‘Deborah is a Zebra’. ‘Silver’ compliments her kiln formed glass as a second discipline and has been utilised in both ‘beneath the tide’ and ‘when deer lay down’ series.
