Wake Boarding Taster lessons in Scarborough are addictive and fun. It doesn’t matter what age you are, whether you are a total beginner or have advanced boarding skills, you will be provided with equipment, tuition and professionalism that will enable you to get the most out of your coaching session.

Wake Boarding Taster Session

Great for more adventurous beginners from 12 years old or those with previous board sports experience.

Includes

All equipment, including wetsuit, impact vest, helmet and board.
Full training from a BWSW trained instructor.
All you need to bring is a towel and swimwear.

Progressing to Wake Boarding
Progression to wake boarding depends a lot on your level of fitness and previous experience. Most people will learn how to start from the dock on a wake board during this session and experience the buzz of wake boarding riding down the first straight of the cable course, possibly progressing to navigating the corners of the cable. If you want to take things a little slower, book the Cable Pass ( knee board Introduction) and come back again next time to hire a wake board.

Please note that this is not a formal knee boarding or wake boarding lesson with a dedicated instructor throughout the session, it's a fun way to give knee boarding and wakeboarding a go, after an initial safety briefing.

Wakeboarding is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is particularly popular with youngsters as the skills transfer easily from other board sports such as skateboarding or snowboarding, and the basics can be learnt quickly. As a beginner, you shouldn’t feel intimidated by other, more experienced boarders on the water. We all started in the same situation! At Dexter’s our professional riders will help you find your legs and feel at ease on the water – gradually building your confidence to tackle harder disciplines. The aim of the wakeboarding lesson is to have you up and riding the wake for a short distance in your very first lesson.

Wakeboard Taster Session

Who is this session best for? Great for more adventurous beginners from 12 years old or those with previous boardsports experience. What does this session include? This session includes a short safety brief at the beginning plus wakeboard hire along with wetsuit hire/ buoyancy aid/ helmet hire. About this session Operating from the heart of Scarborough’s surfing scene, Dexter’s provides lessons & hire for surfing Kayaking & Stand up Paddle boarding, operating on the North Bay Beach. Dexters has multiple changing rooms and hot showers. There is a huge range of hardware, accessories & clothing from leading surf brands. Dexters is the First and only surf school in the area to be granted academy status, after passing stringent criteria, they can teach students and instructors. This leading surf school & hire centre, is run by a professional team and headed up by Andy Desa The North of England’s Olympic ISA Level 2 Surf Coach. They provide expert tuition and support all year round, starting from 5 years to 75. Accredited by Surfing England the UK’s National Governing Body, all conscientious instructors are qualified. The school provides everything else you need to have fun in the sea. They have free to use showers, private changing rooms and lockers on site.
