Make something really special at this stained glass workshop! You will learn to make a stained glass panel from start to finish, using traditional lead-work techniques to safely make a beautiful panel of your own design (which will last for at least 100 years!). Classes are deliberately small so that everyone can benefit from lots of input from Aimee and has the chance to make something personal to them. There will be a lunch break and you can either bring a packed lunch or there are plenty of shops and cafes within walking distance.
The day includes choosing glass (from a huge selection of colours and textures), designing for stained glass, cutting glass, leading, soldering and polishing. The skills you learn will enable you to continue making stained glass at home and you will be trained by a skilled professional, Aimee McCulloch, who has an MA in Glass Design and has worked for several years making bespoke stained glass for houses, schools, TV sets and galleries.
Location: ASC Studios, Brixton, London. A converted office building now home to over 150 artists including painters, sculptors and calligraphers. 5 minutes walk from Brixton tube station.

Aimee trained in Illustration before completing an MA in Glass Design at Edinburgh College of Art. She then worked at Verrier Studio in Glasgow, working on Charles Rennie Mackintosh restorations and windows for the set of the TV show Outlander. Since then, Aimee has set up her own studio in London, making windows and glass art for private clients around the UK and USA. Aimee is passionate about sharing these skills with new people so that the dying art of stained glass can be kept alive.
