Private Surf Lesson for beginners, Scarborough. Learn to surf at Scarborough's premier surf school! These private surf lessons are in small, privately booked groups. This surf lesson will allow you one-on-one time with your instructor and is available to anyone aged 6 years +.

Whether a total beginner, or if you’ve been riding a while and are struggling to get to that next level, these instructors quickly find your level of surfing. Start with a quick 15-minute land lesson on the beach, you’ll receive an expert introduction to the sport of surfing and learn the basic safety you need to be aware of before hitting the waves., or if you have surfed before a quick refresher before you hit the waves.

In a quiet area of the water, the instructor will help you catch waves, get you on your feet and have a great time! All whilst keeping you safe throughout the entire lesson.

The topics that will be covered during the lesson include: positioning yourself on the surfboard, paddling techniques, getting to your feet, proper surf stance, how to manoeuvre over waves, turning the surfboard, balancing techniques as well as water safety.

Operating from the heart of Scarborough’s surfing scene, Dexter’s provides lessons & hire for surfing Kayaking & Stand up Paddle boarding, operating on the North Bay Beach. Dexters has multiple changing rooms and hot showers. There is a huge range of hardware, accessories & clothing from leading surf brands. Dexters is the First and only surf school in the area to be granted academy status, after passing stringent criteria, they can teach students and instructors. This leading surf school & hire centre, is run by a professional team and headed up by Andy Desa The North of England’s Olympic ISA Level 2 Surf Coach. They provide expert tuition and support all year round, starting from 5 years to 75. Accredited by Surfing England the UK’s National Governing Body, all conscientious instructors are qualified. The school provides everything else you need to have fun in the sea. They have free to use showers, private changing rooms and lockers on site.
